ATTENTION：Bringing meat products, fruits, vegetables, etc. into Japan from Overseas is Prohibited.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) has issued the following notice in anticipation of the expected increase of international tavel during a summer holiday season. Therefore, please be aware of the following points.

Regardless of quantity or form of transportation, bringing meat products, fruits, vegetables, etc. from overseas to Japan is strictly restricted by law and must not be brought into Japan. Please do not bring them.
Illegal importation of meat products, fruits, vegetables, etc. into Japan is subject to serious penalties.(imprisonment for a term of up to 3 years or a fine of up to 3 million yen/ 50 million yen in for businesses)
Not only the international students themselves, but also their family members and acquaintances visiting Japan must not bring meat products, fruits, vegetables, etc. into Japan. Also, please be careful not to send them by mail as well.
