This site is the official web site of The Kitasato Institute and is administered and operated by the Public Relations Section, Corporate Division.
The following provides information concerning the safe use of this site and what considerations should be taken into account during use.

Acceptable Use Policy

We expect visitors to this website ("this Site") of The Kitasato Institute (the "Institute") to use any text(s), illustration(s), image(s), and/or audio, visual and/or other material(s) contained in this Site in compliance with the Acceptable Use Policy set forth below. When any person uses this Site whether by viewing, downloading, sharing links, reproducing part thereof, or other action, the person shall be deemed to accept and agree to this Acceptable Use Policy.

This Acceptable Use Policy may be reviewed and revised at any time without prior notice. When this Acceptable Use Policy is revised, a notification will be issued, and the revised Acceptable Use Policy will be published on this Site. Users are expected to periodically check the Acceptable Use Policy before using the Site whether is be viewing, downloading, sharing links, reproducing part thereof, or other action. The Institute owns the copyright to all text(s), illustration(s), image(s), and/or audio, visual and/or other material(s) contained in this Site, except where specifically indicated, and those materials are protected by copyright laws and international treaties. Users of any of the abovementioned material are expected to comply with the terms and conditions established by the Institute (or by the author of the material if an entity other than the Institute is named as the material's source).

For the avoidance of doubt, for the purpose of the Japanese Copyright Act, circumstances where said materials can be used without authorization of the Institute as the copyright holder of the materials shall refer to the use of materials for news reporting, academic research/educational purposes, or private purposes, including, but not limited to acts of printing such materials or storing them on hard discs or other data storage media for the purpose of using the materials during lessons offered in schools or other non-profit educational institutions, or for the purpose of personal or domestic use or other equivalent use within a limited scope.

The Institute hereby requests that you comply with the Terms and Conditions of Use set forth below when you use any of the said materials within the permissible scope.

Notwithstanding the above, any materials contained in this Site and relating to any particular individual(s) cannot be used without specific prior approval of the Institute, for the purpose of protecting of such individual's rights of publicity and rights to likeness.

The Institute logos cannot be used without prior approval of the Institute as the owner of the trademark rights for the logos because they have been registered in Japan in the Institute's name.

If the Institute reasonably determines that any person does not use this Site in compliance with this Acceptable Use Policy, the Institute reserves the right to take action to prevent such misuse.

Some portions of this Site provide links to third-party web sites ("External Sites"). Such links to External sites do not constitute the Institute's recommendation or endorsement of such External Sites. Any policies established by External Site will apply to the use of the External Site.

Linking to this Site

The Institute hereby prohibits any person from linking from any External Site to this Site if

  • through such links, the person seems to support, endorse, slander, or libel any particular individual, organization, or entity;
  • such links are provided in a manner that is against public order or moral;
