【タイトル】Competency Based Veterinary Anesthesia Instruction
【要 旨】Veterinary education at American Veterinary Colleges is evolving towards a more competency based approach. Anesthesia education at Purdue involves all members of the section that work with students, including veterinary nurses, residents and anesthesia faculty. We base assessment of student learning on things that can be directly observed. A fourth year student must be able to competently anesthetize a healthy patient. This includes machine and equipment set up, anesthetic plan, monitoring, analgesic plan, and recovery.
