Graduate School Overview

A Master’s Course in the Graduate School of Fisheries Sciences was established in April 1976, and a Doctoral Course in the Graduate School of Fisheries Sciences (second semester) was further established in April 1978, with the aim of training experts with deep knowledge and research ability through much higher education and study. Since 1996, the graduate school has also been available to working people. To enhance a person’s university education, a graduate school in cooperation with Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) was established in 2010.

In 2012, the name was changed to the Graduate School of Marine Biosciences, in order to provide sharper focus on the characteristics of the school.
