Occupational therapists contribute to human well-being from occupation-occupation in relation to work, recreation, rest and activities of daily living. If people are unable to perform these activities smoothly owing to physical and mental health problems, occupational therapists provide support to enable them to do so independently.

Occupational therapy course

Our educational system comprises a hierarchy of three courses in general education and basic knowledge of occupational therapy as a clinical practice. Further, undertaking fieldwork in the hospital and health care scene makes for useful practice in enabling students to become good clinicians. The education we provide reflects the development of knowledge and new interventions in the field, including the origins of the growth of occupational therapy as an academic discipline and the use of clinical reasoning for decision-making in this field.

Research activities

Our research emphasis in occupational therapy comprise the physical, geriatrics, pediatrics and mental health fields. Research encourages students to study theoretical and evidence based occupational therapy.

1. Human Movement

Human movement is studied using various analytical methods. The basic physical and functional limitations imposed upon the body mechanism in activities of daily living are focused on.

2. Mental health problems

People with mental health needs cannot maintain appropriate social relationships with their families or co-workers. The focus here is to identify why these people feel stress at home, school or at the workplace, with the aim of establishing effective measures to solve their problems.

3. Craft Analysis

Craft is used as a tool of occupational therapy not only for assessment but also for treatment. This method employs crafts in analyzing the motor and cognitive skills in the elderly and children. Further, our original crafts assessment sheet enables us to grasp an understanding of people's abilities.
